The Encounters of "CK":

An Update

CK has reported a number of recent incidents and encounters to APRA researchers, but has now decided that some should be related to a wider audience.

August 2000 - Chiseldon, Wilts

On one of the few evenings in the summer of 2000 that CK had been able to travel down into Wiltshire to look at that season's crop circles, CK was to have a strange journey home.

CK left Avebury at 11.30pm for what should have been an hour's drive home.  He had an uneventful journey from Marlborough, and was observing the speed limits as he passed the Esso garage on the way towards the junction with the M4.  Shortly after he passed the garage, CK noticed two huge bright white rectangular lights above each side of the wide single carriageway road, and there were two round bright red lights 'outside' the rectangular lights from Brian's viewpoint.

Now normally, since he is intensely interested in UFOs, he would have literally stood on his car brakes and leaped out of his car to look at what was apparently above him.  However, for some reason (common in encounters in that the witness behaves unusually), CK just carried on driving, but clearly remembers leaning forward in his seat as he peered up at the lights as he drive under them.  For whatever reason, CK thought no more about the lights, and made his way onto the eastbound M4 for his journey to the junction with the A34.  As he neared the Membury services, CK decided to make use of the facilities there.

CK still thought nothing until he walked back to his car, but glanced at his watch, and it was 12.15am - which was odd, as that part of the journey should only take 20-25 minutes at that hour of the night.  CK then got into his car, and was starting the engine when he glanced at  the car clock - it was 12.21am - how had it taken him 6 minutes to get into the car?  It should be kept in mind that after earlier encounters in his life, CK has become somewhat 'obsessive' about monitoring time, and in this case CK then checked the inbuilt clock on his car-radio - it too read 12.21.  CK then made his way home, without further thought.

Now it would be easy to assume that Brian's (quartz) watch had suddenly 'lost' 6 minutes - although it didn't before, neither has it since.  But why did CK seem to take an unusual amount of time in getting to the Membury services?  Is it possible that he became drowsy while driving - if so, he must have been very lucky to negotiate a very busy and dangerous motorway junction while 'asleep'.

What were the very distinct lights that CK perceived?  Researchers did have one possibility, namely the three tower cranes that were at the time employed in the construction of the new Swindon hospital.  However, these were not visible from where CK perceived the lights, and certainly wouldn't have been 'straddling' the road.  Again - did CK simply become drowsy and drive elsewhere?  If so, why did he not remember getting lost, and indeed he would have had to drive way off his normal journey to get  anywhere near the hospital site to get close to the cranes and their illuminated  advertising billboards - which makes his 'sleep driving' even more remarkable if that is what he was suffering.

A curious footnote to this experience occurred exactly two weeks later - when on a similar journey home CK was involved in a serious car accident, in which he was very lucky to escape with only cuts and bruises (the emergency services estimated a 70-80mph impact!)

The Shadows Are No Longer Ethereal!

We move forward to January 2002 for another 'evolution' of encounters.  CK had been increasingly aware of what he has termed the 'Shadow Entities', but they had always seemed 'ethereal' and 'non-physical' in form.

However, while in Faringdon, Oxon - CK was walking along the street in the late afternoon when he was struck across the back of his shoulders and neck by 'something' - which became apparent as it then flew away in front of him- it was a Shadow Manta!  The 'manta' was clearly struggling to regain its flight, with 'wings' flapping to regain speed and height - it was lost to view as it went over the roof of the building on the opposite side of the road.  CK rushed over the road in the hope of seeing the 'manta' again, but was unable to regain sight of it.

Up to now, even CK has wondered just how 'real' these Shadow Entities are - notwithstanding the two occurrences of the 'Darkangel' in his home, but this 'physical encounter' represents a new evolution in these encounters.

And More Invisible Things!

Just two weeks after the above Shadow Manta encounter, CK was to find another 'anomaly' in his reality.

While at work at his PC station, CK was yawning and stretching, and as he brought his arms back to the keyboard, his right hand 'hit' something very solid - yet totally invisible!  CK instinctively tried to grab/grasp what he had touched, but was unable to take hold of whatever was seemingly close to his physical reality.

Was CK just imagining this 'physical contact?  Perhaps, but given his previous encounters...can we say for sure?
