Recently, Margaret from Runcorn has sent us 35mm prints, that depict
various anomalies, taken by her or her family, often on holidays.
None of these anomalies was seen by the naked eye at the time of
taking the photograph.

Cyprus, 1998 -
Taken by Margaret's father while on holiday. The disk-like
object highlighted upper-left of the picture in the original has been
enlarged 5x in the centre image, and an emboss filter has been applied
to this image.

|

Zakynthos, 1997 - A cloud-like mass seen in an otherwise blue
sky. A 5x zoom is shown centre, and an emboss-filtered version
on the right. This filter is inconclusive here, except to show
that the cloud-like mass doesn't show any 'solidity'.

|

Manchester Airport, 2001 - Again, another disk-like object
captured in a normal photograph. The 'disk' is very small and
indistinct, and further analysis is difficult, but the emboss filter
suggests a solid object..

|

Sherdley 2001 - This is an exception to an 'invisible' object. However, in this case Margaret and
her husband were looking at a metallic-looking UFO, which they tried
to photograph. The 'blue streak' was how this was captured by
the camera!

|

Llangolen, 2000 - Another instance of a 'blue streak', but in this
instance there was no object seen in what was a normal 'tourist' type
photo in the Welsh countryside. The almost comet-like streak is very suggestive of a
trail being left by a fast-moving object, or even an exhaust trail left by
some sort of aircraft. An emboss filter applied separates the
'trail' more than I would expect (compare with the same filter applied to
the above Sherdley 'blue streak').

Runcorn 2001 - A photograph of a striking cloudbank being illuminated
by a low sun - although this was shot in colour, I've reproduced it here
in greyscale, as this highlights the object better. The bullet-like object seen low down over the rooftops
was not seen at the time. Under certain magnifications and
enhancements, it is possible to discern an apparent trail being emitted
from the tight side of the object, suggesting it is travelling at speed to
camera left. An emboss filter applied seems to indicate a solid
object.

Runcorn, 2002
- This photo was taken while Margaret was experimenting with Solar
Obliteration techniques. The large dark object was captured
(although another feinter object- apparently faster moving - is seen
in the original, but not on the scanned image). The sun was to
the bottom-left corner, so the dark object is not obviously a flare
thru the centre of the lens. Interestingly, when the emboss
filter is applied, the object stands out in much greater relief than
any other part of the image, and there is no splitting of the 'object
elements'.

Southport -
February 2003: Another Solar Obliteration image. This
curiously depicts a very similar-shaped object to the previous Solar
Obliteration photo, but this time much feinter. This feintness
is also reflected in the difficulty in detecting edges or solidity
when applying filters. The section of the original image is
above left, with the emboss filter applied above right.

Manchester
Airport - February 2003
A curious 'rectangular light' unexpectedly
snapped while at Manchester Airport. Contrary to what might be
assumed, the photo was not taken from behind glass, so the light is not a
simple reflection of a light behind the photographer. Applying
filters has been inconclusive, as no obvious 'edges' or solidity of the
light can be detected. Emboss filter gives the most curious results,
as numerous elements in the image show light/dark split in different
directions.

Devon 2003 - UFO with Sea
King
Another
recent photo from Margaret, taken while on a beach in Devon in the
early summer of 2003. The main point of interest was the SAR Sea
King - which itself gives us useful points of reference.
However, on examining the resultant photo, the curious anomaly top
left of the frame was seen. It isn't blurred as the rotors of
the helicopter, so was moving slow in comparison, and doesn't really
seem to have the obvious outline of a bird in flight - a gull is the
most obvious thought at a beach. The light and shade certainly
suggests a solid object of some sort, and indeed the light and shade
matches that of the Sea King, so suggests the object was solid and up
in front of the camera.
My
only thought is that the man far left has a stance suggestive of
trying to fly a kite (he certainly doesn't appear to be taking notice
of the helicopter) - is the object a kite? That said, Margaret
is confident that this man wasn't flying a kite, so we are left with a
'genuine' UFO, in that it is unidentified.
