30 May - 'West
Country'
"Just wondering if
anyone also saw an extremely bright light moving across the night sky of south
west of England this evening.
The light was about twenty times the brightness of the surrounding stars,
gliding across the night sky at a fixed speed until it faded from sight due to
cloud cover at about the height of a passenger jet. There was no sound before or
after the "object" went out of sight.
Could it have been the ISS? or Satellite? I look forward to hearing from you.
This one has me scratching my head!"
The ISS did indeed
make a prominent pass over SW England around the time of this sighting, reaching
45 deg elevation, on its previous pass it was almost overhead at 84 deg.

4 May 2008 - St. Austell
From "NR", who was with a
work colleague:
"I would like to report a
sighting of 13 orange/blue balls of lights over St Austell.
It was 00.15 on the 4th of
May. Me and my work mate was driving back to our depot at Par and seen the
lights in the sky that moved across the sky - some moved very fast, and circled
others. [I've] never seen any thing like it before - both of us were shocked of
what we seen.
I got a few pic on the phone
camera but not very good."
Again, this is highly
suggestive of a launch/flight of fire lanterns - perhaps the orange/blue isn't
usual, but such balloons have been marketed/retailed with coloured plastic
envelopes (normally for daylight use) for at least 12-18 months.

July 5th 2004 - Camborne, Cornwall
Around 15 to 20 people watched the following in the early afternoon:
"We briefly, saw an unmarked smallish silver jet with blue tail, circling round.
At first it was quite low, then it started to get higher. We then noticed what
looked like a star/dot in the sky, this went on 4 about 5 mins (the jet circling
the star/dot). I stopped looking for a few mins, looked up again and the jet had
gone, and so too the tar/dot 'thing'. Shortly after there was a fighter in the
area.
It was hot and sunny, no clouds."

December 2000 - Cornwall
Again
another very brief report via the internet, with a witness taking video footage
of a UFO.
The family were just leaving their home near Truro when
they noticed some rottaing yellow lights in the sky, which were moving through
the sky, in and out of cloud, before finally being lost to sight in thicker
cloud.
